when i first saw the motif in qct it looked like there were several areas of backtracking.  however, the quilted pattern actually parallels the line in those areas.  I wasn't sure i liked that at first but decided it looked a lot better than a backtracked line on top of the previous line.  It does look like it might be more versatile than i first thought.  perhaps a star wars quilt.  i used it on a unicorn panel with celtic design on the side.
