How may I use my digital files?
    (Copyright Information)

All of our designs are copyrighted. In most cases, the copyright holder is the designer. Purchasers of digital designs are granted a limited license for one user. That user may not copy, distribute, or sell the digital design. Nor may the user give away the formats that she or he does not need or use.  If you have any questions about how you may lawfully use your digital files, or about the copyright owner's interest in general, please contact us.

What happened to my digital purchase?
     (I have not received it.)

When you purchase a digital design, we send a link to download the files by email. If you do not receive our email in your inbox within a few minutes of your purchase, chances are the email and instructions are in your junk email folder (Outlook) or your spam folder (Gmail and many other email programs).  Before contacting us, please check your junkmail or spam folder to see if our email ended up there.

To prevent this from happening in the future, please add this email address info@IntelligentQuilting.com to your address book or contacts folder.

If  you still can't find our email, or if you have any questions, by all means, contact Lisa or Karen and we will be happy to help you.

Can I get a replacement file for a file I purchased?

 I purchased a file a while ago and I

  • switched systems and would like the file in a new format, OR

  • I lost my copy of the file and would like to replace it, OR
  • I let the download link expire without downloading my file.

Can I get a replacement file?

We are, regrettably, unable to replace a pattern you previously purchased.  The time involved makes this practice prohibitive.  Accordingly, when you purchase a pattern, be sure that you will be available to download it within the seven-day period before the link expires.  When you purchase a pattern, we give you seven days to download it before the link expires.  We also give you three opportunities to download the pattern within that time frame.  If you need the file after the link expires, you will have to re-purchase it.

Note:  This policy applies only where you either successfully downloaded your pattern previously or you did not attempt to download it within the seven-day period after purchase.  If you purchase a pattern and are for any reason unable to download it, please contact us for assistance.

But I thought I wasn't really buying a pattern when I "purchase" one?

If that is what you thought, you would be right.  You are not actually purchasing the pattern; you are purchasing a limited license (the right) to use the pattern subject to certain conditions described in the copyright section of this FAQs page.  It is an important distinction and one made in connection with the purchase of most intellectual property and electronic goods.  We have, however, referred to "purchasing" a pattern on this FAQs page and in other sections of this site to make it easier and less cumbersome to write and to read.  These references do not change the nature of your purchase; again, you have purchased a license (or the right) to use the patterns you've selected subject to the limitations described in the copyright section of this FAQs page.
