What is Intelligent Quilting?
Intelligent Quilting, LLC is a partnership composed of Karen and Scott Thompson.
Karen is a professional longarm machine quilter and a pantograph designer. Karen has been quilting professionally since 2001 and has two longarm machines, both of which are equipped with IntelliQuilter computer systems. Karen's was the first IntelliQuilter installation and she performed beta-testing for the company. Karen designs pantographs and provides digitizing services for some of our designers, converting paper patterns into digital designs for all the major computer systems. Karen's quilting business is Poppy Court Quilting and you may see some of her work on her webshots page.
Scott Thompson, an attorney, provides support services for Intelligent Quilting.
Contact Karen at info@IntelligentQuilting.com for more information. We would love to show you how Intelligent Quilting can meet all of your design needs.

You donate two percent of your gross sales to Quilts for Kids?
Yes, we do.
Since December 1, 2011, Intelligent Quilting has been donating two percent of its gross sales to the Quilts for Kids charity.
We’ve long admired this great volunteer organization that turns discontinued, unwanted and other fabric into quilts for children with life-threatening illnesses and the children of abuse. Originally started in founder Linda Arye’s garage, Quilts for Kids now has chapters in most states across the country. Its is headquartered in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, not far from Intelligent Quilting.
We are very proud of our new partnership with Quilts for Kids. And you are part of the equation. With every purchase you make at Intelligent Quilting (other than taxes), two percent of the purchase price goes directly to Quilts for Kids.
Don’t you mean two percent of “profits” and only on select items?
No. We donate two percent of our gross sales on every item, every day. There are no exclusions other than taxes.
How may I use my digital files?
(Copyright Information)
All of our designs are copyrighted. In most cases, the copyright holder is the designer. Purchasers of digital designs are granted a limited license for one user. That user may not copy, distribute, or sell the digital design. Nor may the user give away the formats that she or he does not need or use. If you have any questions about how you may lawfully use your digital files, or about the copyright owner's interest in general, please contact us.

What happened to my digital purchase? (I have not received it.)
When you purchase a digital design, we send a link to download the files by email. If you do not receive our email in your inbox within a few minutes of your purchase, chances are the email and instructions are in your junk email folder (Outlook) or your spam folder (Gmail and many other email programs). Before contacting us, please check your junkmail or spam folder to see if our email ended up there.
To prevent this from happening in the future, please add this email address info@IntelligentQuilting.com to your address book or contacts folder.
If you still can't find our email, or if you have any questions, by all means, contact Lisa or Karen and we will be happy to help you.

Can I get a replacement file for a pattern that I purchased?
I purchased a file a while ago and I .................
-
Switched systems and would like the file in a new format, OR
-
I lost my copy of the file and would like to replace it, OR
-
I let the download link expire without downloading my file.
Can I get a replacement file?
We are, regrettably, unable to replace a pattern you previously purchased. The time involved makes this practice prohibitive.
Can I get my expired link sent to me again?
Again, the time involved makes this practice prohibitive. When you purchase a pattern, we provide you with a link and give you seven days to download the pattern before the link expires. We also give you three opportunities to download the pattern within that time frame. Accordingly, before you purchase a pattern, be sure that you will be available to download it within the seven-day period. If you need the file after the link expires, you will have to re-purchase it.
Note: This policy applies only where you either successfully downloaded your pattern previously or you did not attempt to download it within the seven-day period after purchase. If you purchase a pattern and are for any reason unable to download it, please contact us for assistance.

But I thought I wasn't really buying a pattern when I "purchase" one?
If that is what you thought, you would be right. You are not actually purchasing the pattern; you are purchasing a limited license (the right) to use the pattern subject to certain conditions described in the copyright section of this FAQs page. It is an important distinction and one made in connection with the purchase of most intellectual property and electronic goods. We have, however, referred to "purchasing" a pattern on this FAQs page and in other sections of this site to make it easier and less cumbersome to write and to read. These references do not change the nature of your purchase; again, you have purchased a license (or the right) to use the patterns you've selected subject to the limitations described in the copyright section of this FAQs page.

Who does the digitizing?
Kim Brunner's and Sue Schmieden's digitizing is done by Digi-Tech. Intelligent Quilting, Judith Kraker, Digi-Tech and the designers themselves do the rest of the digitizing. Regardless of the digitizer, we stand behind all of our products.
